Hey everyone,
This morning was our big pre-op appointment before Titus’s open-heart surgery tomorrow. It was a loooooong morning, but Titus is doing well and most importantly, he is officially cleared for surgery tomorrow.
Our little man was poked, prodded, and tested up down and all around, and he handled it like a champ. Obviously we are biased, but he’s truly the happiest most joyful baby we’ve ever met. The nurses and doctors just absolutely loved him today.
We were supposed to meet with Titus’s surgeon, Dr. Salih, this morning, but he was pulled into an emergency heart surgery. Totally understandable, these things happen (as we know all too well). We’ll get to sit down and speak with him first thing in the morning right before Titus goes back.
Titus is in great hands, and we have a lot of peace in knowing that we are quite literally in the best place in the world for this surgery. That alone brings a lot of comfort to us. We are feeling calm, confident, and covered in prayer.
We’ll arrive at the hospital tomorrow at 6:30 AM for check-in, and Titus will head back around 7:30 AM. The operation should take about 8 hours, so it’s going to be a long day. I’ll do my best to post an update late tomorrow evening, but please just know that if you don’t hear from us right away, no news is probably good news. We’re going to be fully present with our boy and with each other tomorrow.
God has been so good to us throughout this entire journey and we’re trusting that He is writing a remarkable story for Titus. He’s the ultimate physician, and we believe He will be guiding the hands of every person in that operating room. Tonight, we’re lifting up prayers for Dr. Salih and the entire surgical and care team.
To everyone reading this, I just want to say THANK YOU. Your prayers, your encouragement, your texts, phone calls, hugs, and just showing up for us in so many ways has meant more than you will ever know. We love all y’all so much.
See y’all on the other side!
God bless,
Anthony & Leesie
