Hello family and friends,

Thank you for continuing to follow along on our journey with our little (but huge) blessing. It’s been a few months since I’ve shared an update, and today marks a monumental moment in our lives, so I figured this was the perfect time to catch everyone up!

Today, we officially finalized the adoption of Titus Allen Gallegos!

While Titus has felt like our son from the very first moment we met him, today it became legal. We had our final hearing with the Judge in Florida this morning (over Zoom), and all of the final documentation has been signed off and filed away! Forever and ever, Titus is officially a Gallegos and a part of our family!

Also, here’s a fun little detail: Today, May 15th, is also the exact day Leesie and I went on our very first date six years ago, May 15, 2019. Just another awesome little wink from God, reminding us that He’s been writing this story all along.

We also have another big update:

Titus’s open-heart surgery is officially scheduled for June 18th, just 34 days from now. We’ll be heading to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston and expect to be there for a while. We’re preparing for this next chapter the only way we know how: leaning fully on God and trusting that He will carry us through, just like He has every step of the way these past six months. I plan to post more frequently during that time in June/July as we walk through the next part of this journey.

When I think back on everything we’ve experienced since November, I honestly struggle to put it into words. But if I had to try, it’s this: I can’t imagine our life without Titus.

He fits so perfectly into our family that it feels completely providential. We’re just so grateful that God led us down this path, matched us with him, and chose us to be his parents. Our world is so much better with Titus in it.
